SDG&E Tank Floor Cold Cutting
National City, CA
CLIENT: Brown & Caldwell
CONTRACT AMOUNT: $32,000.00
DATE OF COMPLETION: 04/30/2008

The following information details Environmental Remediation Management's work with the Port of San Diego. It highlights the use of steel-cutting services, which are offered by Environmental Remediation Management, to address specialized client needs.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

Environmental Remediation Management was contracted to cold cut thirty-two 14” diameter holes through former crude oil steel storage tank bottoms.

Because petroleum hydrocarbons were present under the tank floors, Environmental Remediation Management used ultra high water pressure with grit to cold cut various locations of the tank bottoms so soil samples could be taken to determine the extent of contamination.

Environmental Remediation Management also performed the following services:

  • Obtained permits for fire hydrant usage
  • Drummed excess water contaminated with hydrocarbons
  • Welded tabs (offsite) on cutout center pieces so they could be put back in place.

Environmental Remediation Management can readily utlize steel-cutting processes to solve many demolition projects and other facility needs.
